Description
The CaixaImpulse Health Innovation Programme, run by la Caixa Foundation with Criteria Bio Ventures as a strategic collaborator, supports the transfer of biomedical research into products, services and businesses. It addresses the funding gap between early research grants and later commercial investment, helping entrepreneurial researchers validate assets and prepare for commercialisation or licensing. Eligible business areas are therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics and digital health, with a focus on human health.
Teams can enter at one of three maturity stages, from initial proof of concept and intellectual property protection to prototype validation, advanced characterisation and regulatory preparation. Support combines project funding with mentors, specialist consultants and training in technology transfer, project management, finance, commercialisation and negotiation. Projects must identify relevant milestones towards market transfer.
