Description
The California Energy Commission (CEC) offers this competitive grant through its Clean Transportation Program to increase the workforce qualified to service electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment. Projects must deliver vocational training leading to portable, industry-recognized credentials. Training may cover installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, repair, technical support, and decommissioning.
Projects may also expand an established training program to include charger service skills, reach new geographic areas, or seek accreditation. The program emphasizes collaboration among workers, employers, and educational providers, with a clear pathway from training to quality jobs. Supportive services for trainees facing barriers to training are optional.
