Description
The California Environmental Grassroots Fund, administered by Rose Foundation, supports small and emerging local groups that build climate resilience, advance environmental justice, and strengthen California’s environmental movement. It funds general organizational support for community-based advocacy, litigation, restoration, organizing, grassroots campaigns, and environmental education. Supported issues include environmental health, climate advocacy, land management and urban sprawl, habitat and wilderness protection, water resources, sustainable agriculture, and pollution and toxics.
The fund prioritizes organizations grounded in the communities they serve, particularly groups representing historically marginalized or impacted BIPOC, frontline, immigrant, and low-income communities. It emphasizes broad community engagement, effective outreach, and strategic responses to local environmental problems.
