The Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program is a competitive grant program administered by California State Parks’ Office of Grants and Local Services (OGALS). Round 5 is funded by Proposition 4, the 2024 Climate Bond. It supports development, or acquisition combined with development, to create new parks, renovate existing parks, or expand existing parks in critically underserved communities across California.
The program emphasizes meaningful resident involvement in park design, climate-vulnerable populations, sustainable environmental design, and health and quality-of-life benefits. Recreation features may include playgrounds, athletic facilities, gardens, nonmotorized trails, public art, and community recreation spaces. Projects must create or renovate at least one recreation feature; applications solely for support amenities are ineligible. Projects dominated by support-amenity costs are less competitive.
