Description
The National Research Foundation’s Evaluation and Rating call gives individual researchers access to its peer-review assessment framework. It is an assessment opportunity rather than a call to fund a particular research project. Specialist committees consider research outputs and reviewers’ judgments of their quality, impact, coherence and contribution to knowledge.
The framework covers natural sciences, engineering, health sciences, social sciences, humanities, education, and performing and creative arts and design. Ratings distinguish established researchers, internationally recognised scholars and emerging researchers with demonstrated potential. Discipline-specific guidance explains which outputs carry weight and helps applicants identify the most appropriate assessment committee, including where their research crosses disciplinary boundaries.
