Ada X’s Local Residency Program offers women, trans, non-binary, and queer artists in the Greater Montreal Area an opportunity to participate in an eight-week production residency. The 2026-2027 edition is themed "On a Human Scale," encouraging projects that critically engage with digital arts, equity, and community. The residency supports experimental and critical media arts practices inspired by (cyber)feminisms, queer studies, Afrofuturism, and anti-oppressive approaches. Artists are encouraged to propose projects that involve collective, participatory, and community-led approaches, with a focus on knowledge sharing, creative resistance, and imagining alternative digital futures.
Participants receive mentorship, workspace, equipment access, a production budget, and opportunities for public presentation and professional development. The program is designed to nurture collaboration, shared responsibility, and new possibilities for equitable technology in communities.
