Description
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Visiting Professorships in the Humanities support Portuguese higher education institutions in hosting distinguished foreign scholars. The programme targets senior researchers with well-established scientific track records, strengthening the quality and internationalisation of teaching and research in Portugal through temporary academic appointments.
Visits provide three to nine months of integration into a Portuguese host institution, with teaching and research forming the core of the supported academic work. The funding combines a monthly stipend with a one-time allowance for travel and relocation. Proposed academic activities must take place in Portugal.
