The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s Division of Health Sciences manages this opportunity through its Behavioral Health Programs Campus Mental Health initiatives. It funds projects that implement and evaluate strategies with promising evidence for improving mental health, wellness, and safety among higher education students.
Supported approaches include peer support, belonging and mentoring programs, mental health content and training in courses or campus groups, campus-wide activities, and programming for specific student populations. Projects may also provide prevention or postvention training, or stipends for behavioral health students interning in campus counseling centers. Applicants are encouraged to work with existing campus and community resources.
