Description
The Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) supports outstanding doctoral researchers through the Canada Research Training Awards Suite, jointly administered by CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC. It funds research training across health, natural sciences and engineering, and social sciences and humanities, including interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary work. Applicants select the agency whose mandate best matches their research.
The program enables scholars to concentrate on doctoral studies, pursue suitable research mentorship and contribute to Canada’s research ecosystem during and beyond their awards. CIHR accepts biomedical, clinical, health services, and social, cultural, environmental and population health research. Alongside the open competition, CIHR provides additional awards for eligible Black scholars and may reserve funding for priority research areas.
