Description
The Cannabis Business Development Grant is a pilot cannabis equity program administered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). It supports early-stage recreational cannabis cultivators, manufacturers, retailers, and testing laboratories in New Jersey. The program addresses high startup costs and limited access to capital due to federal restrictions, helping businesses manage ongoing state and local compliance costs and operating expenses.
Funding reimburses expenses already paid, including rent, payroll, employee training, and professional services needed to operate or obtain and maintain regulatory authorizations. The program aims to ease financial pressure, strengthen long-term business viability, and build a more equitable and sustainable cannabis industry. A portion of funding is reserved for businesses in NJCRC-designated Impact Zones.
