Description
The Virginia Commission for the Arts offers Capacity Building Grants to help Virginia arts organizations improve artistic quality, community engagement, management, and long-term sustainability. The program provides targeted assistance through external expertise and training.
Supported activities include short-term consultations on specific artistic or organizational challenges, with the applicant’s staff implementing the resulting action plan. Examples include strategic planning, financial policy reviews, cybersecurity assessments, accessibility audits, and leadership transitions. Grants also support administrators, staff, board members, and other authorized representatives attending conferences, seminars, institutes, or other professional development opportunities. Eligible activities take place from July 1, 2026, through June 15, 2027.
