Description
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) uses the Capacity Building program to strengthen the organizations and communities that drive economic development across Wisconsin. Its flexible funding supports new or pilot approaches that can be replicated and shared statewide. Projects must be economic development-related and may include competitiveness assessments, stronger economic development programming, regional marketing, cooperative development, and implementation of successful practices.
The program also includes Thrive Rural Wisconsin grants for selected communities, Cooperative Development Grants for entities creating or expanding Wisconsin cooperatives, and Due Diligence Study Grants for communities preparing industrial sites through WEDC’s Certified Sites process.
