Description
This grant funds international partnerships aimed at strengthening higher education institutions and systems in eligible Asian countries not associated with the Erasmus+ Programme (Region 5a). The action is designed to enhance the quality, modernization, and responsiveness of higher education to address socio-economic recovery and global challenges. It aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement, and EU external policy objectives such as the Global Gateway initiative.
The programme is structured into three strands:
- Strand 1: Fostering access for less experienced or remote institutions, including support for newcomers, HEIs in least developed or remote areas, and disadvantaged groups.
- Strand 2: Supporting transformative partnerships for innovation and reform, introducing new approaches with long-term impact on institutions and society.
- Strand 3: Enabling structural reforms at national or regional levels, requiring alignment with Erasmus+ Global Gateway-related priorities for the relevant country or cluster.
Thematic priorities for Asia include: climate resilience and the Green Deal, digital transformation, integration of migrants, governance and human development, and sustainable growth and jobs. Activities may involve modernizing governance, developing innovative curricula, supporting mobility and inclusion, and aligning education with regional and national priorities.
