Description
Akron Community Foundation offers capital grants every other year to help nonprofits construct, expand, upgrade, renovate or repair facilities, or purchase equipment essential to their work. Projects can improve safety for staff and people served, make spaces more effective, and help organizations deliver quality programs.
The foundation prioritizes projects connected to arts and culture, civic affairs, health and human services, education, and needs identified through its Community Needs Assessment. It also favors projects serving communities affected by historic inequities and limited access to funding, incorporating sustainable practices, or showing meaningful community involvement in setting priorities. Board engagement, financial commitment and project readiness are also priorities.
