Description
The Washington State Department of Commerce’s Community Capacity Initiative runs this competitive program to help eligible organizations strengthen their capacity and advance viable capital projects that directly benefit overburdened communities in Washington. Funding can support a critical next step for an early-stage project, including targeted technical assistance and predevelopment activities needed before development can proceed.
Commerce prioritizes projects in overburdened communities that address housing, energy, or infrastructure needs. Applicants and communities with limited financial capacity also receive priority. Commerce expects to award a limited number of grants across three applicant tracks, depending on applications received, requested amounts, and available funding.
