Description
This Horizon Europe call supports the development and implementation of innovative solutions to facilitate and scale up carbon farming certification across the EU, focusing on the practical deployment of the EU Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation. Projects are expected to use advanced technologies—such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, Earth observation, and IoT—to streamline data collection and verification, reduce administrative burdens, and provide open-access models and datasets. The aim is to harmonize monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) for carbon farming, enhance the robustness of greenhouse gas inventories, and ensure the comparability and interoperability of CRCF uses. Proposals must involve a wide range of stakeholders (multi-actor approach), including land managers, certification bodies, market participants, and public authorities, and must systematically collect and analyze feedback to address obstacles to CRCF participation. Collaboration with related EU projects is required.
