Description
This award provides funding for cardiac surgical residents enrolled in I6, traditional 5-2, or 4-3 Early Specialization Programs in cardiothoracic surgery to conduct mentored research in the laboratory of an established cardiac surgical investigator. The program emphasizes clinical and translational research, including quality and outcomes research, innovative therapies, procedures, and technologies in cardiothoracic surgery. The award is designed to foster the development of future academic cardiac surgeons by supporting research activities under the direct supervision of a senior cardiac surgeon who serves as both mentor and project director.
