Description
The Biochemical Society’s Care and Assistance Grants help members remain engaged with the scientific community and continue their professional development through Society meetings and training events. The scheme supports additional costs arising from caring responsibilities, disability, and accessibility needs. Applications are assessed individually, recognising that members’ support needs differ.
Supported arrangements include additional care, medical, or respite costs for someone the applicant normally cares for while attending an event. Grants can also contribute to carer or companion travel and accommodation, childcare support, an additional night’s accommodation to overcome travel or organisational difficulties, and production of accessibility materials. These examples are not exhaustive: the scheme is open to a range of additional support needs associated with participation.
