Description
The Royal Microscopical Society (RMS) offers Care & Support Grants to help members attend meetings and conferences when participation creates additional childcare or caring costs. The scheme addresses the extra support needed to make attendance possible, rather than funding research or project work directly. This might mean extending childcare beyond its usual hours or arranging additional assistance for someone with a caring responsibility.
Supported costs can include additional nursery fees, babysitting and extra carer hours. A Care & Support Grant may be awarded alongside a travel bursary for the same meeting or conference. The Society has a limited fund and awards support on a first come, first served basis.
