Description
Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, offers the Career Development Award to physicians in their first four years of a full-time clinical faculty appointment who are establishing independent research careers in clinical oncology. Projects are conducted with an experienced scientific mentor. The award accepts applications from the United States and internationally, across all areas of cancer research.
Research must involve human subjects and have a patient-oriented clinical or translational focus. Eligible approaches include epidemiologic and behavioral studies, quality-of-care research, outcomes research, and health services research; proposals focused predominantly on in vitro or animal studies are not allowed. Projects must be developed with a patient advocate, have measurable outcomes, and be feasible within the three-year term. Dedicated donor funding for 2027 includes palliative and supportive care in oncology and breast cancers.
