The Career Development Award (CDA) provides three years of research funding to early-career clinical investigators who have recently received their first faculty appointment and are working to establish an independent clinical cancer research program. This mentored award is intended for patient-oriented research, requiring a clinical research study and/or translational research involving human subjects. Projects focused primarily on in vitro or animal studies are not eligible. The CDA is open to applicants from the U.S. and internationally, in all areas of cancer research, and is designed to foster the transition to independent research careers under the guidance of a scientific mentor.
