The Career Development Bridge Funding Award: K Supplement from the Rheumatology Research Foundation provides supplemental funding to junior investigators holding NIH or VA career development awards (K series or VA CDA) who are in years 2, 3, or 4 of their award. The purpose is to address gaps in research support not covered by the parent K award, enabling promising researchers to expand their projects, gain additional preliminary data, and move toward research independence—specifically, to facilitate successful transition to independent NIH R01 or VA RCS/ORD funding. The supplement is intended for research costs only and cannot be used for the investigator's own salary.
