Description
The Rheumatology Research Foundation’s K Supplement provides additional support for research associated with NIH or VA career development awards. It helps junior investigators expand promising research by covering research costs and supporting their progress toward independence, rather than replacing their underlying career development award.
The supplement is part of the Foundation’s Career Development Research Awards, which encourage early- and mid-career investigators to continue research into the cause, prevention, and treatment of rheumatic diseases. The broader program responds to concerns that declining federal research funding can drive investigators away from rheumatology research. Proposed projects may include research using the American College of Rheumatology’s RISE registry, subject to advance data-use approval.
