Description
The British Heart Foundation’s Career Development Research Fellowships support nurses and other healthcare professionals working in cardiovascular settings. The scheme combines research funding with career development to help fellows progress towards scientific independence. Proposed research should usually focus on improving care and outcomes for people with cardiovascular disease; more fundamental or basic science research may be better suited to other BHF funding schemes.
Fellows receive scientific guidance from a senior investigator and can request support for project resources, scientific meetings, and professional development such as workshops, training, or coaching. BHF also considers funding or part-funding fellowships that include research experience with an industry partner, such as experimental medicine.
