Career Exploration Expansion Grants
Career Exploration Expansion Grants support Rhode Island schools and community groups offering youth and young adults career visits, panels, and other activities that broaden equitable access to career exploration.

Funding Amounts: Up to $5,000 per calendar year; reimbursement of up to 100% of eligible costs

Description
Established by the Governor’s Workforce Board, Career Exploration Expansion Grants help Rhode Island schools and community-based organizations offer high-quality career exploration to youth ages 6–18 and young adults ages 18–24. The program is funded through the Rhode Island Job Development Fund and aims to make opportunities to learn about careers more equitable.
Activities should introduce participants to occupations, industries, workplace environments, and career pathways. Examples include employer site visits, industry tours, career panels, job shadowing, and virtual career exploration. Activities centered on technical instruction, workforce readiness, competitions, or other topics may qualify if they include interaction with industry professionals, career-pathway information, and participant reflection or career planning.
