    Description

The New Hampshire Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education, within the Bureau of Career Development, administers this grant to increase non-traditional enrollment in CTE programs or significantly expand supports for students already enrolled. The program uses Perkins V state leadership funding to prepare individuals for fields, careers, and occupations non-traditional for their gender.

Supported activities include student and teacher recruitment, mentoring with professionals in non-traditional fields, professional development for CTE educators and administrators, and travel to training sites, workplaces, postsecondary institutions, career fairs, and mentoring events. The program emphasizes evidence-based strategies that increase interest, strengthen resiliency, improve classroom climate, use creative recruitment, and review organizational policies for inclusivity. Additional research-based engagement strategies receive competitive consideration.
