Description
The American Society of Hematology’s Careers in Hematology Advancement Mentorship Program (CHAMP) is a year-long opportunity for trainees pursuing clinical careers in classical or malignant hematology. It addresses gaps in access to mentorship, particularly for trainees at institutions without robust hematology mentoring, through relationships with external mentors.
CHAMP offers separate classical and malignant hematology programs, combining virtual and in-person activities. Both include a retreat at ASH headquarters in Washington, D.C., and a meet-up at the ASH annual meeting to support career development and connections with peers and mentors. The malignant hematology program matches participants based on shared career interests and goals. ASH seeks a cohort reflecting diverse perspectives, talents, and experiences, including individuals from communities underrepresented in hematology.
