Description
The Carl Menconi Ethics Case Writing Competition is an annual program administered by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Committee on Ethics in cooperation with the IMA Academic Research Fellow. It develops and distributes teaching cases addressing business ethics in management accounting and finance, with the goal of strengthening students’ awareness of ethical issues and IMA ethics initiatives.
The competition gives management accounting educators an opportunity to turn ethical situations into cases and accompanying teaching notes for undergraduate or graduate classrooms and IMA chapter continuing education programs. The IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice must be an integral reference in both documents. The winning case is selected by the Committee on Ethics and featured in Strategic Finance, providing publication and visibility across the profession.
