Description
This travel award, administered by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) in collaboration with the Medical Mycological Society of the Americas (MMSA), supports the participation of a student medical microbiologist from Latin America, Puerto Rico, or the Caribbean at the ASM Microbe meeting. Funded by an endowment from Carlyn Halde, Ph.D., the award provides $1,200 to defray travel expenses and complimentary registration for ASM Microbe. The recipient is also invited to attend the MMSA meeting and dinner held in conjunction with ASM Microbe and is expected to give a short talk on medical mycology at their home institution after the conference.
