Description
The Music Library Association (MLA) established this annual award in 2003 with support from Carol June Bradley and has continued to fund it in her honor. It supports research in progress on music librarianship or music libraries, particularly the historical studies for which Bradley was known. Her scholarship documented music collections and the lives and careers of music librarians.
Past projects have examined music cataloging, the development of library collections, and the people and programs that shaped the field. Recent recipients have studied rare sheet music collections, the history of the Plaine and Easie Code, and the changing role of the music cataloger.
