The Classroom Enhancement Grants are offered through the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation, an affiliated fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. The program aims to improve quality of life in rural Oklahoma by helping Pre-K through 12th-grade educators go beyond traditional curriculum, enrich their teaching environments and provide resources students would not otherwise encounter in everyday classroom activities.
Projects must offer creative and innovative approaches, experiential learning or learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Supported work spans arts and culture, English language arts, social studies, and science, technology, engineering and math. Recent classroom projects include musical productions, museum visits, storytelling workshops, expanded classroom libraries, agricultural learning, robotics and hands-on science activities.
