Description
The Cashiers Community Fund, administered through the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, supports charitable projects that improve quality of life in Cashiers and benefit its residents. Requests demonstrating the greatest community benefit receive the highest consideration. The fund seeks to strengthen charitable organizations serving the area and respond to changing community needs and opportunities.
Established in 1992, the fund provides a permanent charitable resource for Cashiers. Contributions are pooled and invested by the Community Foundation, with investment proceeds supporting grants while original gifts remain intact. Recent funded work includes youth mentoring, early childhood programs, dental and health services, food assistance, environmental education, outdoor recreation, and civil legal assistance.
