Description
The Welch Foundation’s Catalyst for Discovery Program supports fundamental chemical research at institutions in Texas. It funds teams pursuing significant problems at the leading edge of chemistry, with support intended to reduce barriers to discovery and give researchers flexibility in their experiments.
The program covers chemistry subfields and allied fields including biochemistry, chemical biology, chemical physics, chemical engineering, materials, and nanoscience. Medical and clinical research, biology, and other fields outside chemical research are not themselves within scope, although their methods may be used to investigate fundamental principles of chemistry. The Foundation launched the program in 2023.
