This internal grant program is designed to enhance or expand research infrastructure at the University of Arizona by funding the acquisition or upgrade of equipment and resources for use in shared or core facilities. The grant targets strategically important research areas including space science, fusion energy, AI-driven health innovation, sustainable mining and critical minerals, and arid lands agriculture and water. Proposals must demonstrate how the new or refreshed resources will build research capacity, foster cross-departmental and cross-college collaboration, and improve competitiveness for new extramural funding. Preference is given to projects that serve broad user groups and are aligned with institutional research strategies and TRIF Initiatives.
