Description
Catalyst Seed Funds support undergraduate and graduate students (MS or PhD) advancing research for multi-institutional collaborations. Supported activities include data collection, pilot studies, publication or grant-writing support, and other early research needed to prepare teams for publications and external funding proposals. Funding primarily supports students’ research work, but may also support faculty time spent guiding and mentoring them.
The program is administered by the NH EPSCoR State Office through New Hampshire Long-term Investment to Fuel Transformative Research (NH-LIFT), a four-year initiative funded by NSF’s EPSCoR E-CORE program. NH-LIFT aims to broaden participation, catalyze innovation, and strengthen New Hampshire’s economy. Catalyst funding positions established teams to conduct research and seek external support, complementing Collaboration Seed Funds, which help build collaborative teams.
