Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) offers Catastrophic Storm Grants for tree repair, removal or replacement in urban areas after a storm for which Wisconsin’s governor has declared a state of emergency. The program addresses direct damage to urban forests caused by snow, ice, hail, wind or tornado—not routine tree care or damage from insect infestation, disease, forest fire, drought or flooding-related water saturation.
This application period concerns severe storms on July 27, 2026, in Outagamie, Winnebago, Forest and Vilas counties. Governor Tony Evers issued the associated emergency order on July 28, 2026. Eligible work must take place within the geographic area covered by that declaration.
