    Description

The Catholic Biblical Association of America’s annual Emerging Scholars Fellowship supports doctoral students who show promise of making significant contributions to biblical studies. Established in 2016, the fellowship selects four emerging scholars to present their research at the CBA Annual General Meeting, encounter scholarship, and develop relationships with others in the discipline. CBA supports biblical scholars from all traditions.

The award combines travel and conference support with an honorarium, candidacy for CBA membership, and access to scholarly resources. Fellows present an academic paper in a 30-minute session followed by 10 minutes of questions and discussion. The program’s partnership with Verbum, established in 2023, provides additional research resources.
