The Cave Conservancy Foundation’s Charles W. Maus Fellowship program supports cave- and karst-related research by graduate students at the master’s and doctoral levels. Funding supports thesis and dissertation research in any field, including archaeology, biology, engineering, environmental science, geography, geology, hydrology, and social science. These disciplines are examples, not limits on eligible research, and projects may investigate caves and karst areas anywhere in the world.
The fellowship aligns with the Foundation’s mission to promote and facilitate the conservation, management, and knowledge of cave and karst resources. Its student fellowship program has operated since 1997, awarding more than 50 fellowships totaling close to $500,000 across its academic fellowship offerings.
