    Description

Established in 2020, this Catholic Biblical Association of America (CBA) program provides financial assistance for specific projects advancing biblical scholarship broadly conceived. Supported work includes biblical research, archaeological research, and related research projects, with particular emphasis on original research by Catholic scholars. The program considers both the merit of the proposed work and its contribution to biblical scholarship, especially Catholic biblical scholarship.

Grants support future work rather than completed projects, normally over a year, a semester, or a shorter period such as the summer. Sharing results with the Association’s membership is an important part of the program, particularly through research reports, panels, and other presentations at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The program is generally not intended to support participation in other conferences or conferences not open to the wider CBA membership.
