Description
The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) offers this fund to help researchers move their work toward commercialization. It supports patent application fees, legal fees, and other professional technology transfer services, rather than a new research project. Proposals must describe the steps for which support is requested, the principal investigator’s commercialization goals, and how the work aligns with CCI’s cybersecurity focus.
CCI is a statewide Virginia network for cybersecurity research, innovation, and workforce development. The fund is directed toward faculty at primarily undergraduate institutions and also permits eligible applicants at institutions without a technology transfer office. Faculty who receive an award must enroll in the Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP) upon notification.
