Description
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce administers CDBG Community Revitalization with funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The program addresses locally identified quality-of-life needs in rural Oklahoma, helping neighborhoods and communities thrive, grow and foster civic pride. It supports eligible activities under Section 105(a) of the Federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, except water and wastewater projects.
Potential projects include fire protection, streets, senior centers, community centers, libraries, property acquisition, gas and electrical system improvements, accessibility improvements and stormwater drainage. The program contributes to Oklahoma’s broader CDBG goals of suitable living environments and expanded economic opportunity, principally for people with low or moderate incomes. Applications compete against one another regardless of project type.
