Description
CDBG Housing Rehabilitation PY24 supports housing rehabilitation through Rhode Island’s Community Development Block Grant program. The Rhode Island Executive Office of Housing administers the state program using U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding. The opportunity focuses on strengthening neighborhoods and benefiting low- and moderate-income residents, defined as households earning at or below 80% of Area Median Income.
Housing rehabilitation projects must meet HUD’s national objectives. Under the low- and moderate-income housing objective, assisted permanent residential structures must be occupied by qualifying households upon completion, with affordable rents required for qualifying rental occupancy. Municipalities are the direct state funding recipients and may distribute funds to nonprofits and other entities to undertake eligible activities.
