    Description

The Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) Economic Development program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides funding to Missouri communities for two main initiatives:

    • Downtown Revitalization: Supports the renewal and improvement of downtown areas by addressing slum and blight, improving commercial building facades, correcting code violations, and investing in related public infrastructure.
    • Industrial Infrastructure: Assists communities in developing publicly-owned infrastructure (such as streets, water, and sewer lines) to attract new industries or support the expansion/retention of existing facilities, with the goal of creating or retaining private sector jobs.

Both tracks are designed to foster vibrant local economies and support job creation through strategic public investment.
