Description
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Infrastructure administers this Community Development Block Grant program. The North Carolina General Assembly allocated CDBG funds to infrastructure in 2013 and transferred them to the division for administration.
The program funds construction of public drinking water and sewer infrastructure to mitigate public and environmental health problems. Projects must serve areas where at least 51 percent of residents have low to moderate incomes, meeting the HUD low- and moderate-income threshold. CDBG funding for other types of projects is available through the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
