Description
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce administers the HUD-funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Rural Economic Action Plan program in partnership with Oklahoma’s Sub-State Planning Districts (SSPDs). The program pairs CDBG funding with state-appropriated REAP funding to increase the impact of projects in each district.
Eligible work includes water and wastewater improvements, streets, stormwater drainage, fire protection, housing, community facilities, utility improvements, and removal of architectural barriers. Projects must document a direct benefit to people with low or moderate incomes. The broader CDBG program aims to provide decent housing, suitable living environments, and expanded economic opportunities while addressing locally identified needs.
