Description
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce administers this HUD-funded Community Development Block Grant program for water and wastewater projects requiring more than one year to complete. It is intended to help communities identify appropriate technical solutions within their budgets and coordinate with state permitting and financing agencies. Applicants submit one application covering engineering and construction; an engineering component is required even when another funding source pays for it.
Awards use a three-year contract. In the first year, recipients must complete engineering and obtain a Release of Funds. Construction can proceed after the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) permit and Commerce Release of Funds requirements are complete, with the remaining period available for construction.
