    Description

The Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), based at UC Berkeley, offers a 16-week fellowship in residence or online for African researchers and practitioners developing impact evaluation and quantitative development research skills. Fellows audit tailored coursework, work with a faculty mentor and PhD peer partner, and build research networks. Both tracks cover any area of economic development, including agriculture, financial inclusion, gender, technology, and energy and climate change.

The Practitioner Track connects evidence to real policy and program decisions. The Academic Track supports research proposals or participation in a faculty member’s existing project. Projects may range from early research design and data-collection planning to analysis and paper drafting. Proposals must emphasize rigorous quantitative social science, preferably causal methods; mixed-methods approaches are also considered.
