Description
The American Mathematical Society (AMS) awards the Centennial Fellowship annually to help an outstanding mathematician advance their research career. Work in every area of mathematics, including interdisciplinary work, is eligible. For the 2027–2028 academic year, AMS will make one award, paid to the recipient’s university or department for course release, research-related travel, and other research-related expenses.
Selection centers on the excellence of the candidate’s research. The committee also considers how the fellowship could make a meaningful difference in the development of the candidate’s research career, with preference for candidates who have not had extensive fellowship support.
