Description
The Center for Craft’s Craft-Based Education Grant supports mid-career teaching artists in documenting, developing, or improving lasting, accessible teaching resources. Supported work includes filmed demonstrations and archives of craft processes, themed lesson-plan series, physical or digital educational toolkits, multilingual or age-appropriate learning materials, and other educational resources aligned with the program’s goals.
The program emphasizes knowledge preservation, innovation, cultural stewardship, and accessibility. It connects artistic and teaching practices while encouraging resource sharing and meaningful community impact. Awardees receive financial support, a mentor, and opportunities for peer exchange through monthly virtual cohort gatherings. Completed resources are presented through a virtual public program and made available on the Center for Craft’s website to broaden their reach.
