    Description

The Center for Craft’s Craft-Based Education Grant supports lasting, accessible educational resources that document and carry forward craft practices. It provides previous Teaching Artist Cohort awardees with funding, mentorship, and peer support to document, develop, or improve artist-designed teaching tools. The program aims to encourage innovation and resource sharing while strengthening the communities these teaching artists serve.

Supported work includes filmed demonstrations and archives of craft processes, complete lesson plan series, physical or digital educational toolkits, multilingual or age-appropriate workbooks and curricula, and other educational resources aligned with the grant’s goals. Its guiding principles are knowledge preservation, innovation, cultural stewardship, and accessibility. Awardees are matched with mentors and have opportunities for monthly virtual cohort gatherings. Completed resources are shared through a public virtual program and the Center’s website.
