Description
This funding opportunity supports health professions schools and related public or nonprofit entities in establishing and expanding Centers of Excellence to improve educational outcomes for underrepresented minority individuals in health fields. The program aims to enhance academic performance, expand recruitment and retention of minority students and faculty, develop competitive applicant pools, and provide community-based clinical training. Supported activities include curriculum development, academic support, mentoring, faculty and student research on minority health issues, and strengthening information resources. The overall goal is to build a diverse health workforce equipped to address health disparities.
