Description
The Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office administers Certified Local Government (CLG) Project Grants under the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The grants help participating communities build the capacity to administer effective local preservation programs and meet the CLG program’s Ongoing Performance Standards. Funded work must produce tangible products and benefits, whether as a standalone project or as part of a larger effort, such as comprehensive planning or a Main Street program.
Eligible work includes preservation plans and ordinances, design guidelines, historic resource surveys, National Register nominations, revitalization or reuse studies, public education, design assistance, and shared services. The FFY2026 round prioritizes training, public access and participation, connections between preservation and community planning, and documentation of under-represented communities or histories.
