This Union Values call under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme is managed by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). It selects intermediaries in EU Member States to provide financial support and capacity building to local, regional and national civil society organisations (CSOs). Priority should go to grassroots, small, remote and rural organisations with limited capacity and funding sources.
Projects should strengthen civil society’s resilience, protect fundamental rights, democracy, equality and the rule of law, and support dialogue, transparency and good governance. Supported CSO activities can include advocacy, watchdog work, public awareness, research informing policymaking, targeted support services and promoting implementation of court judgments. Proposals must assess civic space and CSO needs in the countries covered, incorporating gender analysis and, where possible, an intersectional approach.
